Panic Room 2002
This title sequence mainly uses non-diegetic sound. These are sounds added during editing. The non-diegetic sounds that I have identified are background noises such as the wind. One non-diegetic sound that stood out to me particularly, is the sound of the police sirens. This helps build suspense, and contributes to the genre of the film. Since the film is a Thriller movie, these non-diegetic sounds help establish the tone and mood of the film. In addition to this there is a layer of instrumental music. I think it was very clever to put this over the title sequence, because the use of the instruments added to the suspense and mood. I identified the types of instruments that were used, like the violin (which has a sharp sound), and the cello.
